Coralee participated in Suicide Awareness Day 2012. Having had a close friend commit Suicide in March 2009 and having tried to do so herself in the past, this day means a great deal to her. She wore yellow and wrote love on her wrist in support and awareness of it. She believes Suicide is something people do not take as seriously as needed, when someone is having suicidal thoughts and acting in a way that shows they are depressed, or even just sad, it is brushed of by many as attention seeking. Coralee says that self harm and eating disorders aren't taken as seriously as needed either, and that this day is a great step, in helping create a brighter future, not only for herself but others in her place. She states "Depression doesn't have to be something that is constant, some people have massive waves of depression without warning, and like a flick of a switch, want to harm themselves, or even wish to die. They believe no one cares, or the depression blinds them of those who do care, and shows them those who just don't. It's a war within yourself and so hard to get past. The moment I first found out about Suicide Awareness Day all those years back, it made me wonder if maybe there had been something like this around, and popular when *kelly took her life, maybe she would still be here, showing her smile and bringing life into the room she walked in."
